What is toasted ravioli?

Toasted ravioli is simply ravioli that has been breaded and fried, or toasted, instead of boiled.

You end up with a crispy little finger food that is perfect for dipping and great as an appetizer or snack.

They remind me of little turnovers, except you don’t have to stand in the kitchen all day filling and pinching tiny squares of dough.

Ravioli comes in so many flavours that you can make these vegetarian if you like, or go with a beef or chicken filling. Serve them along side a nice dipping sauce and you have a pretty easy appetizer for your next gathering or game night.

Why this recipe works

Simple ingredients – You don’t need anything fancy. Just a package of ravioli, a couple of eggs, breadcrumbs and seasoning.

Easy – There are only a few easy steps to prepare the ravioli for the air fryer.

Quick – These crispy ravioli bites cook in less than 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Refrigerated ravioli – Any flavour will do so choose your favourite.

Eggs – Make the breading stick to the ravioli.

Breadcrumbs – I use a combination of Panko and fine breadcrumbs for the best combination of coating and crunch. But you can use just one or the other if you prefer.

Grated parmesan – This is the parmesan that comes pre-grated and usually sold in a shaker container. You can grate your own if you prefer, just make sure it’s super fine.

Seasonings – I use a combination of individual seasonings, but you could use your favourite blend as well.

Serving Suggestions

These toasted ravioli are best served as an appetizer or snack.

They are a great addition to an appetizer platter along with some parmesan wings and some breaded shrimp.

I like to make sure there is a delicious dip available like homemade tomato sauce or roasted red pepper dip.

They are also good with your favourite ranch dip or roasted garlic dip.
