Perfectly cooked, fluffy long-grain rice is quick and easy using the instant pot. This rice turns out perfect every time and leaves the stovetop free for the rest of the meal.
Add the rice and water or broth to the inner liner of the instant pot.
Place the lid on the pot and turn the vent to the seal position. Set the timer for 3 minutes on high pressure. When the timer is complete, let the pot naturally release for 10 minutes, then turn the vent and release the remaining pressure.
Remove the lid from the pot and stir the rice to fluff it.
Serve as desired.
Notes
You can use either a 3-quart or 6-quart instant pot for this recipe. If you want to double the recipe you will need to use a 6-quart instant pot. Cook time will remain the same.This recipe is for traditional long-grain white rice such as basmati or jasmine. It has not been tested with brown or wild rice. Do not use minute rice!
