Ingredients

  • 2 pears Anjou or Bartlett
  • ¼ cup brown sugar light or dark
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon salted butter softened

Instructions

  • Start by slicing the pears in half lengthwise and then, using a small, sharp knife, carefully remove the core and fibrous stem.
  • In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, flour and butter until it is crumbly. You can do this with a fork or simply mix it with your fingers.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F for 4 minutes.
  • While the air fryer is preheating, place the pears cut-side up in a baking pan that fits in your air fryer basket.
  • Sprinkle the tops of the pears with the brown sugar mixture, filling the core and sprinkling it over the surface.
  • When the air fryer is finished preheating, place the pan in the basket. Set the air fryer to 350°F and cook the pears for 20-25 minutes. You are looking for pears that are soft enough to be pierced with a fork, but still have a bit of resistance.
  • Remove from the air fryer and serve as desired.

Notes

If you don't have a baking pan that fits your air fryer basket you can either line the bottom with foil (after it has preheated) or simply place the pears in the basket.  The pan just helps catch any melted brown sugar so you can spoon the caramel over the pears when serving.
The time to cook will vary depending on the variety of pears you have chosen and the ripeness of the pears.  Softer pears will need a shorter cook time, while firmer pears will require a longer cook time.
